Murabilia: the quality gardening show on Lucca’s City Walls
Murabilia is the most important quality gardening and green culture show in Tuscany and among the leading events in Italy.
For 24 years, it has been one of the most significant Italian exhibitions dedicated to flowers, plants and gardening, bringing life to Lucca’s Walls from San Regolo Bastion to La Libertà Bastion.
When and where:
Murabilia takes place in Lucca, on the City Walls, during the first weekend of September.
The event is set in the unique and evocative scenery of the park, the only one of its kind in the world, built atop the Renaissance tree-lined walls of this historic Tuscan city.
Murabilia Lucca: what you’ll find at the event
Around 200 nurseries, artisans and food vendors offer visitors botanical rarities, new introductions and well-established species and varieties to add fresh colour to gardens and balconies.
Each year, the event reinvents itself by exploring a new theme.
For many visitors, Murabilia is an opportunity to discover old and new plants, as well as to meet and exchange ideas with experts, professionals and enthusiasts through conferences, book presentations and workshops.
Your ticket also grants access to the Lucca Botanical Garden, founded in 1820 and recognized as a regional museum of Tuscany.
Young Gardening: activities for children
“Young Gardening – Cultivating the New Generations” is a dedicated space for children to learn about environmental protection and respect for nature. Numerous creative and playful workshop activities are organized in partnership with local organizations.
Parking near Lucca’s Walls
Murabilia takes place on the City Walls, in the heart of Lucca’s historic centre, where cars are not permitted. Visitors arriving by car must use public car parks nearby, such as Parcheggio del Borgo on Via Passaglia or Palatucci car park, and then walk to the exhibition entrances.
